لقد قاد عيسى سيارته على سرعة 100 كم في الساعة باتجاه كفرخل حيث يزور عزوته في كل نهاية أسبوع. لقد كان عيسى شاباً قصيراً لا يتجاوز طوله المتر و النصف و كان يبلغ من الوزن 50 كلغم. رآه امام المسجد الذي كان يتوضأ في ساحة المسجد و دعاه للصلاة ثم طلب منه تبرعات للمسجد. بعدها رأته جارته موزه الطاعنة في السن و طلبت منه أن يساعدها في حمل أسطوانة الغاز. من بعيد صاحت ابنة عمه بأن المكمورة سوف تبرد. نظر اليها بانزعاج, فبرغم أن فاتحتهم مقروءة الا أنه ينوي أن يتزوج "غريبه". يبدو أنه سيواجه المتاعب مع أهله و اقاربه واهل بلدته.

جلس عيسى على السفرة و حوله العشرات من الأهل و الأقارب و الانسباء و بعد الانتهاء من تناول الطعام خرج الرجال الى الشرفة بينما اهتمت النساء بتنظيف المكان و نقل الأواني الى المطبخ من اجل الجلي. حضرت احداهما الشاي بالنعناع بينما تولت الأخرى اشعال فحم الأرجيلة و تفقدت المعسل بنكهة التفاحتين و البطيخ بنعنع.

تبادل الرجال الحديث بصوت مرتفع و صاح أحدهم: "أسرعوا بالشاي و الارجيلة". لقد تأخرنا و يجب علينا الذهاب الى العزاء للأخذ بخاطر أبو محمود مختار البلدة, " الزلمة ما قصر معانا بس يصير عندنا اشي, لهيك لازم انروح".

My mobile didn’t ring in the early morning hours. That caused me great concern. It never stopped ringing like this! More than ten times, I made sure I didn’t put it on ‘silent’ mode. I even rang it from the landline to make sure it rang. In the evening, I freaked out! “What is happening? Why is it not ringing? This situation distracts me; it tears me down, as if something big will happen.” My heart beat fast and my pressure rose. I cleared up all doubts and phoned all my male and female friends after I checked on my parents and siblings. Although those phone calls were expensive, I didn’t care. Something big will happen. I can really feel it! I arranged my papers and I burnt a lot of love letters. I deleted a number I didn’t want anyone to see from my mobile. I don’t know why I was doing it, but I did. Something big happened after that. Not knowing, I was saying goodbye.

لم يرن هاتفي في ساعات الصباح الأولى، سبب ذلك الامر قلقا عظيما. عادته لا يتوقف عن الرنين هكذا. تأكدت أنني لم أضعه "صامت" أكثر من عشر مرات، و رنيت عليه من هاتف المنزل لأتيقن أنه يرن. في المساء، أصابني هلع شديد. "ما الذي يحدث؟ لماذا لا يرن؟" مثل هذا الامر يمزقني، "كأن أمرا ما سيحدث". تسارعت دقات قلبي و ارتفع ضغطي. قطعت الشك باليقين و هاتفت صديقاتي و أصدقائي جميعهم بعدما اطمأننت على والدي و إخوتي، و رغم تكلفة هذه المكالمات إلا أنني لم أعبأ بها. أمر جلل سيحدث، أتوجسه جيدا. رتبت أوراقي و أحرقت الكثير من الرسائل الغرامية و شطبت من "موبايلي" رقما لا أود أن يراه أحد. لا أدري لماذا أفعل ذلك، لكنني فعلت. أمر كبير حدث بعد ذلك. فقد كنت أودعهم من دون أن أدري.
